TYPES OF AGGREGATE
GRAVEL
Bank Run Gravel- $3.80/Ton
This material consists of whatever is dug out of the bank. The sizes of the rocks in this material can be as small as a pea and as large as a basketball. The amount of dirt and sand you will receive in conjunction with the rock cannot be calculated.
Modified Bank Run- $5.40/Ton
Processed bank run gravel that ranges from 2 to 8-inches in size. Includes rocks (2-8-inches), dirt and sand.
Crushed Bank Run- $6.25/Ton
Often referred to as crushed gravel or New York State Item 4, this material is processed bank run sized at 1 ½” minus. The combination of the 1 ½”stone and the finer dirt/sand allows this material to compact well and stay in place. Municipalities often use this material as a road base before blacktopping roads and highways.
WASHED STONE
#1 Washed and Crushed Stone- $9.75/Ton
This washed stone ranges in size from 5/16 to 5/8”. Because it is a washed product, it is free of dirt and sand. Often referred to as New York State Underdrain Type 1. Often used as drainage stone, under concrete pads or slabs and in the concrete batch process.
#1A Washed and Crushed Stone- $9.00/Ton
This washed stone ranges in size from 3/16 to 5/16”. Because it is a washed product, it is free of dirt and sand. Often referred to as pea gravel, grits or New York State Underdrain Type 2.
#2 Washed and Crushed Stone- $9.75/Ton
This washed stone ranges in size from 5/8” to 1 1/8”. Because it is a washed product, it is free of dirt and sand. Often used for drainage, in septic systems and in the concrete batch process.
WASHED SAND
Washed Screened Sand- $5.50/Ton
The finest sand product, in terms of particle size, we carry. It is dark in color and often used as bedding for pipes, gas lines and in barns. It can also be used in pool installation, horseshoe pits and children’s sandboxes.
Washed Concrete Sand-$6.25/Ton
Coarser than screened sand, in terms of particle size. Concrete sand is used in the concrete batch process as well as for de-icing roadways to improve traction. If specs require, it can be used in arenas and as bedding sand.
Washed Mason Sand- $9.75/Ton
In terms of particle size, Mason Sand falls between screened sand and concrete sand. It is often use as a mortar mix to lay block or in between sidewalk pavers. Some customers have found it useful as a bedding for animals, as well.
Washed Filter Sand- $12.50/Ton
The coarsest sand we carry, in terms of particle size. It is mainly used in septic systems. This product has been approved by the Tompkins County and Cortland County Health Departments.
IMPORTED PRODUCTS
Limestone Crusher Run- $17.50/Ton
A blue-gray limestone product sized at 1 ½ to 2-inch minus. This material is imported from limestone quarries. It contains 1 ½ to 2” stones with stone fines. These fines help the larger particles compact and stay in place when it is rolled or driven over. This material is often used in as a topping for driveways.
